Reuse it!

My creative reusing of my barely used but incredibly gorgeous 2016 planner! 😀

Have you ever felt embarrassed reusing some thing that is perfectly reusable? 
I have and I want to share with you that it is fine to be creative and reuse items! And it is normal for people to sometimes question or associate your mini Picasso masterpiece *doing a short dance here* with the inability to acquire new items.

It has happened to me but let me tell you this… it does not matter what others think! It’s your life, take full control of it and just be you! You are not here to impress anyone! You are here to live your life in full connection with your being which is full of love and light! ❤

The culture of more and not enough is getting stronger and stronger and some of us do not want to get sucked into it. Some of us want to declutter, others want to resist the urge to buy more than we need and some of us just get a kick out of creating new things out of old goodies. Whatever your reason is, focus, be you and rock it! 

Life can throw rocks or even boulders at us which can sometimes push us off course. Let’s focus, do our best to stay on course and smile! It’s ok to be different! 🙂

Take nothing personally :)

One of the best lessons I have ever learnt is to never take anything anyone does or says to me personally. It is so easy for us as humans to get affected by the things others do or say to us.

As the famous quote goes,

‘I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.’ – Maya Angelou

And yes, that is sooo true. We always have a mental list of people we would like to avoid, people we love being around and people we just don’t mind. We often get along best with people whose energy aligns with our own. However, in certain circumstances, we can’t choose the people we want to be around, eg. work, relatives, neighbours, etc.

During times like these, I follow Eckhart Tolle’s advice, which is to do one of these three things when you find yourself in a situation which triggers unease or unhappiness in you – accept it, do something to change it or remove yourself from it.

Whichever option you choose, remember that nothing anyone says is ever about you, it is a reflection of their inner world and their journey in raising their level of consciousness (though not everyone is always aware of this state of being or has even stepped on the path).

We are not here to judge anyone. Everyone is on a path that is unique to their being. We are here to spread love by being the light, though this isn’t always easy. We can always bring our focus back to the present moment (and our breathe) and be the consciousness that watches it should we notice that we are getting more and more ‘offended’ or ‘affected’. We can also choose to do this over and over again because it can be quite difficult for us to sustain such presence due to our human conditioning. It is a journey and we might step off the path a couple of times, but let’s go easy on ourselves! We need to be our own best friends during such moments and support our commitment to cultivate peace in ourselves.

The point is, we do have a choice in how we react. We have a choice in everything that we do in life. Let’s remind ourselves to remain empowered, positive, present and graceful.

Let’s remember though, that this is about progress and not perfection. We need to find the courage from within to forgive ourselves if we interact unconsciously with others(especially with our loved ones). It is bound to happen! The truth is, life really isn’t that serious and we truly do hold the key to our inner peace and happiness. Let’s not give it away to others. 🙂
