Milton’s Secret by Eckhart Tolle and Robert S. Friedman

A simple but deeply meaningful book that teaches children about the power of being intensely present in the moment. I believe this book will benefit adults too, as I read this and immediately felt peace and spiritual alignment. This book is about letting go of unnecessary worries and surrendering to life. A book to keep by your children’s bedside and read to them often to remind them that life is simpler and more beautiful than they might believe it to be.

Take nothing personally :)


One of the best lessons I have ever learnt is to never take anything anyone does or says to me personally. It is so easy for us as humans to get affected by the things others do or say to us.

As the famous quote goes,

‘I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.’ – Maya Angelou

And yes, that is sooo true. We always have a mental list of people we would like to avoid, people we love being around and people we just don’t mind. We often get along best with people whose energy aligns with our own. However, in certain circumstances, we can’t choose the people we want to be around, eg. work, relatives, neighbours, etc.

During times like these, I follow Eckhart Tolle’s advice, which is to do one of these three things when you find yourself in a situation which triggers unease or unhappiness in you – accept it, do something to change it or remove yourself from it.

Whichever option you choose, remember that nothing anyone says is ever about you, it is a reflection of their inner world and their journey in raising their level of consciousness (though not everyone is always aware of this state of being or has even stepped on the path).

We are not here to judge anyone. Everyone is on a path that is unique to their being. We are here to spread love by being the light, though this isn’t always easy. We can always bring our focus back to the present moment (and our breathe) and be the consciousness that watches it should we notice that we are getting more and more ‘offended’ or ‘affected’. We can also choose to do this over and over again because it can be quite difficult for us to sustain such presence due to our human conditioning. It is a journey and we might step off the path a couple of times, but let’s go easy on ourselves! We need to be our own best friends during such moments and support our commitment to cultivate peace in ourselves.

The point is, we do have a choice in how we react. We have a choice in everything that we do in life. Let’s remind ourselves to remain empowered, positive, present and graceful.

Let’s remember though, that this is about progress and not perfection. We need to find the courage from within to forgive ourselves if we interact unconsciously with others(especially with our loved ones). It is bound to happen! The truth is, life really isn’t that serious and we truly do hold the key to our inner peace and happiness. Let’s not give it away to others. 🙂

What is my responsibility in life?

Sometimes I feel responsible for so many things in life that I lose focus and end up frustrated. Being in that state of scatteredness means that I end up getting nothing done properly.

This video is a good reminder to all of us to take charge of our state of consciousness this very moment and that in doing so, life will flow through consciousness itself.

A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle


This book is about, among other things, living a life beyond the mental image that we have created of ourselves. If you yearn for peace, acceptance, surrender and presence in your life, this is a book you would want to have on your bookshelf. It is not a book to read from cover to cover. I have had this book for over 6 years and am constantly learning from it. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed and put it down, other times I am amazed that I missed something so deep!

One Conscious Breath

The quickest and simplest spiritual practice out there – just breathe consciously! Even though paying attention to our breath does seem rather insignificant, it really is the birthplace of consciousness in our lives.
